people...pipol

i have been exposed to a variety of people since i started working and i think i've seen them all...hell yeah! all sorts of people from all walks of life. sino ka sa kanila?

there are people who work just for the sake of money or fame, there are those who do it with passion to the point of sacrificing their personal lives...

there are people who will pull people down, there those who'll help you get up...

there are people who are so damn lucky, there are those who just can't get things right...

there are people who get what they want out of "chika", there are those who really work hard for what they have...

there are people who are so used to lying, you don't know anymore when they're telling the truth...while there are those who are brutally frank.

there are people who would do anything to get what they want, to the point of stepping on other people's shoes, but there are also those who don't know how to get what they want...

there are people who are overly egoistic, and there are those who suffer because of these crap...

there are people who are over-confident, there are those who are too modest you don't notice how intelligent they are...

there are people who are free-loaders, there are those who love to share...

there are those who go to work like they're attending a party or fashion show, there are those who don't even dress up decently...

there are people who love to eat, there are those who are weight-conscious and don't eat meat...oh how i envy and pity them? sa sobra atang kulang sa protein, pati brain nila na-drain!

there are people who are too shy to eat at a gathering, there are those who grab a bite from everyone's plate...how disgusting!

there are people who love to annoy people, there are those who allow themselves to be annoyed...

there are people who love to talk about themselves, there are those who love to listen...or forced to listen?

there are people who will try hard to belong to a circle, there are those who don't even know how to socialize...

there are people who know what directions to take, there are those who just go with the flow...

there are people who hide in their closets, there are those who are left wonderin' and spend their day trying to figure out...get a life people!

there are people who can't accept their mistakes, there are those who get their peers' respect because they know how to acknowledge theirs.

there are people who can get away with their meanness, and seldom are those who get punished for it.

there are people who think they know it all, there are those who are mistaken.

there are people who sincerely love you, there are those who'd claim they do but don't really mean it...

there are people who'll show up when they need help, there are those who easily forget you when you're the one in need...

there are people who observe and try to understand...and there are those who couldn't care less.

there are people who love with all their heart...there are those who just want to be loved but don't know how to give back.

people...pipol...different faces, different facades...but what's on their hearts and minds, no one can really define and understand.

people...(is that barbra singing in the background?)

penthouse...soon!

yes...i'm claiming it! penthouse-living why not?

actually, more than the material things i wrote in my wishlist, eto talaga ang WISH namin! i know God will provide! and soon, makaka-move in na rin kami sa condo unit na pinaghihirapan naming bayaran monthly! sana next Christmas na yon! sana...yihee!

haay tukso talaga ang sale! sabi ko ayoko makigulo! but then i had to buy some basics for the house, at nakabili na rin ako a few stuffs for my boys.

7. a new but user-friendly cellphone: hay naku natatakot ako na one of these days baka magcrash na naman ang jurassic motorolla phone ko

The Secret

I've read the book months back or early this year...but on my way back to Manila last Monday, I kind of read it again through the audio book on my ipod touch. I got so inspired again that I couldn't help but smile while watching the video. I'm referring to Rhonda Byrne's "The Secret."

My mind got overwhelmed with thoughts about my immediate goals, my dreams and aspirations and how i want to achieve them really soon.

From "biyahe", I went straight to work. I was still euphoric about the message of "The Secret"-- about the Law of Attraction, on visualizing your goals...that the universe is governed by the principle that "like attracts like" and that our thoughts are like magnets: Positive thoughts attract positive events and negative thoughts attract negative events.

So forward to studio taping... as it has been our habit to pray together before we begin taping, one of the staff, Selda led the prayer. I asked her to pray that someone would finally win the Pot Money or the 1 Million Peso-Jackpot in one of the 3 episodes that we would tape that very night. I reiterated that the prayer should be specific (usually we'd just pray for a big winner). The last time I prayed for a Millionaire weeks back when i led the prayer at the taping of Singing Bee, Manilyn Reynes won 1 Million! And guess what, that Monday night that we taped Game KNB, somebody won the pot money that stood at 750,000 pesos!

Of course, prayers could really do wonders. And I think it's not just about visualizing and attracting what you want. That "universe" being referred to in the book "The Secret"-- I kind of replaced with God. The Secret is not just about attracting what you want so that the universe will conspire and give it to you, but believing in the power of the Most High who leads the whole universe, and that is God!

Discovering My Multiple Intelligences

Just like Glenn, I've also wondered what types of intelligences I have so I followed suit and also took the test taken from the site called, Multiple Intelligences for Adult Literacy and Education.

Your top three intelligences:
Intelligence Score (5.0 is highest)

Description:

Language: 4.57

You enjoy enjoy saying, hearing, and seeing words. You like telling stories. You are motivated by books, records, dramas, opportunities for writing. Effective techniques of enhancing your learning using your language intelligence include reading aloud, especially plays and poetry. Another idea is to write down reflections on what you've read. You may also enjoy exploring and developing your love of words, i.e., meanings of words, origin of words and idioms, names. Use different kinds of dictionaries. Other ideas:

* Keep a journal

* Use a tape recorder to tape stories and write them down

* Read together, i.e., choral reading

* Read a section, then explain what you've read

* Read a piece with different emotional tones or viewpoints — one angry, one happy, etc.

* Trade tall tales, attend story-telling events and workshops

* Research your name

Body : 3.71

Body Movement: You like to move, dance, wiggle, walk, and swim. You are likely good at sports, and you have good fine motor skills. You may enjoy taking things apart and putting them back together. Incorporating body movement into your learning will help you process and retain information better. Here are some ideas.

* Trace letters and words on each other's back.

* Use magnetic letters, letter blocks, or letters on index cards to spell words.

* Take a walk while discussing a story or gathering ideas for a story.

* Make pipe cleaner letters. Form letters out of bread dough. After you shape your letters, bake them and eat them!

* Use your whole arm (extend without bending your elbow) to write letters and words in the air.

* Change the place where you write and use different kinds of tools to write, ie., typewriter, computer, blackboard, or large pieces of paper.

* Write on a mirror with lipstick or soap.

* Take a walk and read all the words you find during the walk.

* Handle a Koosh ball or a worry stone during a study session.

* Take a break and do a cross-lateral walk.

Musical : 3.43

Musical: You like the rhythm and sound of language. You like poems, songs, and jingles. You enjoy humming or singing along with music. You probably remember things well when they are associated with music or rhythm. Try to incorporate sounds into your lessons, such as using a familiar tune, song, or rap beat to teach spelling rules, or to remember words in a series for a test. Here are some other ways to use your musical intelligence:

* Create a poem with an emphasis on certain sounds for pronunciation.

* Clap out or walk out the sounds of syllables.

* Read together (choral reading) to work on fluency and intonation.

* Read a story with great emotion — sad, then happy, then angry. Talk about what changes — is it only tone?

* Work with words that sound like what they mean (onomatopoeia). For example: sizzle, cuckoo, smash.

* Read lyrics to music.

* Use music as background while reviewing and for helping to remember new material.

* Use rhymes to remember spelling rules, i.e., "I before E except after C."

Winner!

One afternoon, i picked up my son from school...i was surprised to hear "Congrats!" from other parents at the waiting area! I didn't know that Raph joined a contest that day...at singing contest pa ha! When he came out of their classroom, he was so happy! He kept saying: "I'm the champion!" and "I never had this before!" -referring of course to the trophy. Yup this was his first trophy, he had medals though before. Congrats anak! Smart na, singer pa! hehe!
